For some reason I am having trouble contributing to this blog.  I don’t like apologizing for not blogging so I’m not going to.  I don’t know if it is writers block or what.  Maybe being that it is summer.  In the mean time you can check out my other blog.

Summer Camp

My wife leaves for summer camp next week and I am really going to miss her.  I can’t go on this trip because I have my 10 year high school reunion.  This will be the longest we will have been apart since being married.  Any suggestions to make this time easier on us.  Are any of you going to summer camp with your wife or not?

Back from Student Ministries Staff Retreat

So we just returned from Palm Springs where it was a balmy 115*.  It was the staff and their spouses.  It was super great.  When we were at dinner the first night I got to looking around at the staff and their wives.  All wives.  I was the only husband of about 16 staff members.  Right then I realized I needed to write more on this blog.  We are a small number, but we are a number.  They paid for all the spouses to get pedis and manis.  I think they forgot about me, but they didn’t I got a gift card to Border’s while the ladies went to the nail salon.  It was a super fun time and a good time to get to know the rest of the staff.  I would not trade being the husband of a youth pastor for anything.   I love my wife and the teamshe works for.

Got it right or just lucky.  What a blowout.  Oh well, that just means college football season is getting closer.  Any college football fans out there?  Who is your team?

Tiger Woods and the NBA

How awesome was Tiger this weekend.  I am not sure he is even human anymore.  He is ridiculous.

Also, if you saw my earlier post on the NBA Finals you will see I picked Boston in 6.  I hope I’m right.  We will see tomorrow night

End of the school year

Just like everything else youth ministry goes in cycles.  My wife and I are done with our small groups for the year.  But now summer is here.  It is really just as busy as the rest of the year, but more laid back.  The good thing is that we have more nights free.  This will be a great time to spend more evenings together.  That means more date nights.  I hope the same is true for you.

Can Big Brown do it?

This horse is amazing.  I am a huge horse racing fan when it come to the Triple Crown.  I have watched all 3 every year for some time now.  Why?  I am not really sure.  The funny thing is that I hate horses.  I actually have never ridden one, but I really enjoy watching horse racing.  Big Brown will try to become the first horse to win the Triple Crown since Big Brown did it in 1978.  The Triple Crown consists of The Kentucky Derby, The Preakness and the Bellmont Stakes.  Big Brown does have a crack in his hoof, but that shouldn’t affect him.  What are your thoughts?  Do you even care?

NBA Finals

Alright, who is going to win it?  I personally don’t care who wins.  I don’t like either team.  My team (Hornets) got beat in the second round.  I know the Lakers are in the West and so are are the Hornets, my wife likes the Lakers being that she is a Cali girl, but I can’t stand the Lakers.  I really don’t like Boston either.  So I am going to make a prediction and leave the cheering to every one else.  Boston in 6.

Senioritis

So, I work at a school now and we have about 11 days left.  I haven’t had this feeling since college about 5 years ago.  I am so ready for summer.  Super weird to be an adult and have the same feelings.
